I’m so excited to finally debut my line of miniature burned wood engravings this week at the Illinois Artisan Program’s Jewelry Art Spree! Each necklace and pin is an original, one-of-a-kind mini artwork, with its unique design burned into wood, painted with milk paint, then finished with a protective epoxy resin. Every piece is signed and dated on the back.
Best of all, the resin is a non-toxic, water-based formula. Did you know that most epoxy resins consist of BPA? That plastic stuff we’re all trying to avoid in our kitchen gear these days? Yeah, me neither until I started researching resin finishes. I was thrilled to stumble upon a product that is completely BPA-free. Hurrah!
If you’ll be in downtown Chicago this Thursday or Friday, stop by the atrium of the Thompson center where I will have a table with my jewelry, as well as an assortment of my fine art pieces.
Thursday, 7/18 & Friday, 7/19
10am – 3:30pm
James R. Thompson Center
100 W. Randolph
Chicago, IL
And stay tuned for another sneak preview of the jewelry line on Tuesday!
